My fiance and I have been together 8 years and are both into bands like radiohead greenday pink floyd oasis etc...so neither of us knows any good love songs!! We need something that relates to us. We have been together 8 years, practically every day since we were 19 and 20, and we would like a song that suits our relationship......any good suggestions??

I understand your dilema, my fiance and I was having a similar problem as we never really had a "our song" but then we thought back to a special and yet tough time and around Christmas time we were walking around Target and they sold this dog and when you pressed his paw he sang "What a Wonderful World" by Louis Armstrong well my eyes just filled up with joy, because I considered myself one of the most luckiest people. So last week we were discussing this and that is what came up. So see after all my babaling you should choose a song that makes you think of each other. Everyone may give you "their" song but you want something that is your own and represents the two of you and your relationship together.

I'm not convinced everyone here has understood your musical tastes! However, I hope I have...

Radiohead have done a version of Nobody Does it Better by Carly Simon which is brilliant, I'm sure you must be able to download it. Or Wonderwall by Oasis is a great love song and was written about Meg who Noel had been with for years, so pretty appropriate.

PS - Don't have Every Breath You Take its a song about wanting revenge, not romance!

my eldest chose lonestar amazed i had it in the car on a rock ballads disc when she first heard it...... still sends shivers down my spine when i hear it after seeing her dance to it as a married woman.. she was 21 still daddys girl though,, even got a little grandson now. life is great, so try that one it sounded awsome on the day

some of the lyrics go

every time our eyes meet feeling inside me it just blows me away etc its a cracker have a listen to it together it may strike a chord and the lyrics suit both men and women so its could be ideal
ok im waffling now sorry time to go

all the best to you both anyway

Watch the Wedding Planner with Adam Sander..they had a lot of nice songs my son had the Chicken Dance and I got a kick out of that.
don't forget the Hookie Pokie..have some fun with that.
Don't forget the Twist as some people are lousy dancers and that one everyone can dance too..just an idea.
by the way my son and daughter in law went together for five years and 9 months and their marriage did not last a year.
So....don't take anything for granted...that piece of paper does strange things to people....

I love this song

Elton John http://www.eltonography.com/songs/your_song.html

for something a bit more modern I think your beutiful which is title "The Blowers Daughter" by Damien Rice

or Death Cab for Cutie " I will follow you into the dark" a little morbid but very sweet when you read the lyrics

Well, if you like Oasis, then you must at least like or love the Beatles. I'm sure you can go from there. "when I'm 64" is a good one, but it's not a boring slow song, so pick it if you want to have more fun than not. :)

We had a song called 'Feels Like Home' by Bonnie Raitt. It was in a movie called 'Michael' starring John Travolta which was one of the first films we went to see together. It just fit, somehow. Still does! Its written by Randy Newman.

we had "heaven" but not the bryan adams version. Dj sammy candle light mix i think its called. It was lovely and very emotional.

Oh - thinkin' about all our younger years
There was only you and me
We were young and wild and free

Now nothin' can take you away from me
We bin down that road before
But that's over now
You keep me comin' back for more

Baby you're all that I want
When you're lyin' here in my arms
I'm findin' it hard to believe
We're in heaven
And love is all that I need
And I found it there in your heart
It isn't too hard to see
We're in heaven

Oh - once in your life you find someone
Who will turn your world around
Bring you up when you're feelin' down

Ya - nothin' could change what you mean to me
Oh there's lots that I could say
But just hold me now
Cause our love will light the way

N' baby you're all that I want
When you're lyin' here in my arms
I'm findin' it hard to believe
We're in heaven
And love is all that I need
And I found it there in your heart
It isn't too hard to see
We're in heaven

I've bin waitin' for so long
For something to arrive
For love to come along

Now our dreams are comin' true
Through the good times and the bad
Ya - I'll be standin' there by you

Good luck x x x x
