Simply because they are both insecure and immature.
If you are experiencing this hassle then in future lay down the ground rules at the start of the relationship.Nobody owns you, you're your own person and you're free to do what you wish.
You are not expected to act as if you're engaged after one date and if a jealous guy can't live with that then tell him where to get off

Sometimes its a combination of hormones and immaturity. The hormones have them doing and thinking a lot about sex and this makes them anxious. When they feel anxious some feel irritated and angry(also can be hormonal). so some feel that to be in control they have to control the girl . Some never get over the immaturity part and the need to be controllling, when that gets out of hand it becomes abuse. Abuse should never be tolerated. So if a guy is trying to be that way with you tell him NO you won't be treated this way. Walk away and don't look back.

They have control issues. If you run into one of these, run! The control issues in many cases eventually become abuse. In fact, controlling behavior is one of the main signs of an abuser. Not all men that do this are going to hurt you, but the odds are in favor that they will. Get a grip, get out and change your number if you have to.
Good luck, HTH

It all depends, for instance i went through hell before i could girl this girl i'm dating for over 4 years now, in other words i have to do everything possible to keep and make sure that nothing happen/anyone trying to take my place..
It's all about being insecured, and again if you're truthful to your guy, there's no reason for him to watch over you.. So as i said.. It all depends...

later in life i seen the error of my life ans jealousy was my own insecurity. i sure went through a lot of stupid mistakes but when i got some real self confidence in myself I got over this immature and self defeating trait

Well in most cases they dont want to lose u.
but their g.f thinks he dosnet trust her, which in most cases equals breakups.
Or he cares or loves you so much that he needs you every secone in his life or he dosent feel whole, he feels empty.
Or he's a complete dick and wants to hurt you ( saidest)
Love you name!
