But they think that because evolution has brought upon thought and that it would be natural for for thought to be a continuation of evolution. This means that they think it is the natural order of life. I do not disagree with all of their philosophies, for example, they believe that simulated intelligence will emerge. Such intelligence will far exceed our own. If this were to happen, they explain the only way to survive would be to emerge with the machines. I actually look forward to the day that I might be able to experience a full virtual reality world. Regardless of what I or they think, science is progressing us towards a very different future. We are powerless to stop it.

Well, I had never heard of this before so my only information on it is from the link you provided.

Would you agree that this is an attempt to "push" or "guide" evolution? It must be the opinion of the scientists involved that humans are not good enough they way they are build, and so we must "improve" upon the model.

It's an interesting idea, but honestly I don't think they will get anywhere with it.

EDIT- So more thoughts. If the scientists involved believe in evolution, and I'm sure they do, then why do they have the arrogance to think they can improve upon a model (the human) that took millions of years to evolve into it's current form? And if they don't believe in evolution, why are the trying to tamper with what was created?
