None of the foods that we consume - citrus, lemon, tomato - can match the acidity of the juices in our stomach, which are emitted to digest the food. Their PH value is much lower than the acids in our stomach. For ag, lemon juice turns alkaline when it hits our stomach.
Indigestion is usually dues to certain other reasons - food allergies, which should be investigated. Such as lactose intolerance. Things such as alcohol, caffiene, or spicy, fast foods may aggravate the acidity.
Or one eats food too fast and does not chew the food well.
Or because there is little stomach acid being produced, which is why food is not digested properly. Hence we get the feeling of heartburn.
Drink lots of water during the day. That will reduce the acidity feeling. The antacids reduce the symptoms and provide relief for the moment, but do investigate the reasons.

Hot, Spicey, MUST BE AVOIDED since they are responcible for gastric ulcers. Hot n Spicey food damage stomach wall and so acid secretion on those open stomach wall will produce severe acidity.
Take 4 T.s f. acntacid gels or chewable tabs. before meals, it will make a layer on ur open stomach wall and thus burning sensation will be reduse.
But avoide Hot n Spicey food till ur stomach produce a new layer to ur wall.
Take care n get well soon...
