Hi there. I've had very painful lymph nodes either side of my groin now for over a week. They're getting slightly larger as the days go by. I wen to the doctor a couple of days ago and he didn't exactly fill me with confidence. Wouldn't really tell me much about it, other than it could be nothing, but get some blood tests done in the meantime. They are very hard, not soft, immovable anf very painful to the touch. If i was female and had ovaries I'd say I'd been kicked in them. Well, blood tests tomorrow, so we'll see. Anyone have anything similar - hard, painful etc? Could use the advice as I'm a little in the dark at the moment. Thanks very much indeed. Ad.

Hi there and thanks for your answers so far. Some realy interesting stuff there.

I just thought I'd add to the symptoms list... I've now started having weird stomach pains, a bit like wind, although my bowel movements are completely normal and regular... The pain in the nodes has increased today, at one point the right nde sent shooting pains down my right leg. Very odd... Let's see what the blood test reveals.

Another symptom...

The right lymph node is now a very irregular shape. It's larger and is not "lump" shaped any more it's sort of kydney shaped. A big lump with a smaller lump branching from the side. weird huh?

Well, had blood test today, just waiting for results now

Stay on top of your doctors until you get a satisfactory answer. A blood test may not tell you all the answers you need. It may need to be biopsied. There are many things it could be, not all of them bad. If it is something bad, there are great treatments out there, so please try not to worry. The stress is not good for you either.
Here is a site with great info, in case Lymphoma is mentioned:

Doc8 is right on. I have Hodgkin's lymphoma with swollen, painful groin nodes, so if your blood work comes back nasty, perhaps you should look into what alternative medicine has to offer for your situation, which is--a great deal. I have relevant information outside the scope of this question. Click on my icon and email me if you're interested, and I'll send you the complete answer. You'll be glad you did. Somebody here keeps getting it unjustly taken off as 'spam and advertisement' because the same information applies to everyone with cancer. And no, I'm not selling anything or getting a dime from anyone. Just want to help. Best of luck.

i get them alll the time man, nothing to stress about, not cancer or anything im sure. ive been told 3 different things by doctors, either it IS a lymphnode, OR it can be ingrown hairs(i know thats what sommme of my have been) orrrr it can be calcium build-ups, which they can give u pills for....BUT either way.... believe this or not, i thought it sounded crazy when i was told this, but, if go buy some epson salt(comes in a bag) and put 3 cups of it in a tub of warm water(just enough water) and rub some of it on the psysts while soaking in it for 20 minutes at a time, 20 minutes in the tub 30 minutes out 20 in 30 out and so on, for a few hours, they will all reduce to HALF or less the size they are now. GAROUNTEED

If you had some strenuous work recently such as running ofter a sedentary period, or even hiking then you can rest your mind that they will diminish in a few days. Even a mild bowel, urinary tract or abdominal infection can trigger lymph nodes. But just in case you better take the blood tests your doctor has ordered. Good luck

...don't worry to much dude...and don't think that's cancer because it isn't i have some before but it wasn't very painful maybe those are lympnode caused by some instances of trying to tolerate your body to carry too heavy objects.....but for sure just consult your doctor for proper medications...nothing to fear about.....
