Yes oatmeal is a carbohydrate. Oat is a grain, therefore a starch.

yes....if you are watching your carbs, buy and eat in moderation the old fashion oats, NOT the quick oats. The more processed a food is the more carbs it has. That's why old fashion cooking is better for you. Have fun

yes. but since it is usually eaten in it's whole grain form, it is called a good carbohydrate.

it has good fiber and has a low glycemic index (which is a good thing but is a whole other issue).
