And If this is the case then how can we defend or deny the original sin ( eve and the apple) and should we be worried about a stuoid apple when far greater sins are being commited?

Please do not call me ignorant as I am asking YOUR opinion and not stating my own thank you.

It says so in the bible.

Read the full text of the ten commandments. The 5th includes:

5 "You shall not bow down to them or worship them; for I the Lord your God am a jealous God, punishing children for the iniquity of parents, to the third and the fourth generation of those who reject me . . . "

The concept of a forgiving God seems to ignore his most famous covenant with humans.

A sin is a sin is a sin. None is greater than any other. Only society places different stigmas on crimes or sins. Someone who probably forgive a thief more easily than a murderer or rapists but, it's all pretty much the same in God's eyes.

As far as the sins of the father concept, I guess it's all in how you look at it. I don't know if I necessarily believe that. We're all responsible for our actions so that's why we ask for forgiveness. Even if we were "punished" by God for a sin we didn't commit, it's always our choice to do the right thing in a bad situation.

God, not man, judges.

Sins of the father, practice of forgiveness, original sin (Eve and a tree, not a fruit tree) are found in the bible. Today's view is different from the time of Christ and the time of Moses.

For example, the fall of Adam and Eve is viewed differently. Original sin is the Christian viewpoint.

The bible has 56 book revealed by God through his prophets. There is a biblical answer to your question: What does the bible say? It all comes down to what you believe. Your beliefs are yours.

God, not man, judges. God forgives, and sometime, man does too.

People are responsible for their own sins, not Adam's transgression.

Nevertheless, the choice that Adam and Eve made to eat the forbidden fruit had consequences for the rest of us, because it made it possible for us to live here in the state that we are all in.

In a similar fashion, whoever has the responsibility for the sin will be punished, if he/she does not repent. But sometimes bad choices of one individual have negative consequences for others who are not responsible. A good example would be rape. The rapist alone is responsible for the sin, but the victim certainly experiences some negative consequences.

We DO NOT suffer death because of Adam's transgression. We are judged upon our own actions in this life; not the actions of others whom we have no control over. That's like blaming someone in China for a car accident that happened in Canada. They had nothing to do with it, and there for cannot be to blame. If Adam did not partake of the fruit with Eve, non of us would be. I believe it was God's plan for them to taste of the knowledge some time. He knew that was the only way the rest of us would make it here. We are asked to forgive others willingly, and leave the judging to God.

The garden of eden isn't a story about Eve eating an apple. That's just a kindergarten portrayal to teach children. The "fruit" she ate of is figurative, not literal. Just like Christ would often say, "by their fruits ye shall know them." Was he talking about literal fruit? Of course not, and neither is Genesis.

NO NO NO. We are no longer under "original sin" we are under original grace. You are not ignorant and this is a good question that many Christians do not understand.

Read the book The Faith, Once and For All.

God bless!

No, God holds each accountable, But A father has influence, if he is an alcoholic than the child may grow into the same sin by exposure! Or if the parent is into witch craft than those demons will try and high jack the child!

for once , a good question . if the son is in some way influenced by wrong doing of the father and takes that same path it has to be forgiveness that will show the true path in life as described by God!

just think if there wouldn't be any forgiveness what would this world be like ! that in itself is horrific!

The original sin is the only sin passed on! The
only great sin that is not forgivable is not to believe in Jesus Christ as your lord and savior.
