I have rather oily hair and I have to wash it everyday. Does washing your hair daily causes hair loss? I've heard this from a few people and I always wonder

I would recommend seeing a dermatologist, who can better help you determine the cause of having an oily scalp and give suggestions as to overcome it. The problem with using shampoo daily in order to keep the oil down is that--like the poster before me suggested--it will dry out the scalp. Unfortunately, the dryness causes the pores to excrete even more oil to counter this... and you wind up in a vicious circle. Not to mention that yes, daily shampooing is tough on the cuticles and roots, and can lead to brittleness of the hair shaft. Many with oily hair (according to my own dermatologist) should use nothing stronger than regular old baby shampoo. At first, the oil will seem to be building--but rest assured, it'll back down within a few weeks in most cases. One more thing: Use conditioner sparingly, perhaps two to three times per week unless your hair is often exposed to sunlight, chlorine, salt, or perfumes. Be sure to check with your insurance, since most office visits to a dermatologist are covered and may only require a small co-pay from you. Best of luck to you!

Hey, the natural oil your hair produces is actually very good for your scalp and hair. It is a barrier used to protect your hair and scalp. Washing your hair everyday does cause your hair to become dry and brittle because shampoo can be harsh on your hair due to the chemicals in it. Therefore, when you wash you hair constantly it causes hair loss and breakage due to the weakness of the hair from consistant washing.
The best thing to do is try washing it at least every second day, as a start, until you can get used to the oil and allow your hair to take in the moist. Then eventually you can start to limit the amount of washes.
Everyone is different, i would recommend at least 1 or 2 washes a week. It's definately healthier. :)
Whereas, if you have a problem and your oily hair is smelly and excessively moist you might need to visit a doctor so he could recommend a medicated shampoo which could help balance it.
MAKE SURE YOU REALLY GIVE YOUR HAIR A GOOD SCRUB WHILE SHAMPOOING AND A GOOD RINSE AFTER CONDITIONING.
90% of my customers with the same problem only just need a good wash.
TAKE CARE! :)

By washing your hair everyday you help keep yourself clean, that`s positive, but on the other side, it makes yor scalp even more oily!

You see, in our scalp there is a different kind of skin which is full of glands. Those glands produce an oily substance in order to keep the scalp and the hair lubricated so as to prevent friction and thus, damage of the hair. If you wash your hair daily, you make those glands work harder because all this essential lubricant disappears by washing. That is the only reason why the hair become more oily with daily washing.

But as far as I know there are little chances of you losing hair due to everyday wash. It could be your seasonal hair loss! Don`t be surprised, but not only hairy animals have it! Although it could be true if you wash it with a very strong sampoo with many chemicals or very hot water .

What I suggest to do, is to buy a special sampoo from the pharmacy (or visit the dermatologist before) and wash your hair twice a week, not more! You`ll see it does wonders! I had that problem myself!

In the beginning i notion that. Washing your hair daily will strip your hair of your typical oils. Which is dangerous, however, when I started to get a little older my hair acquired oiler. So i'd wash it every other day. Within the morning it could appear exceptional but at the middle of the day it was once really oiler. So i started to clean it daily its exceptional to do this. My hair looks exceptional its soft and shiny.

If you need to wash your hair everyday, use a mild shampoo. Overwashing your hair probably won't cause hair loss but a harsh product can actually make oily hair even oilier.

Well washing your hair everyday could really dry out your scalp which makes your hair very dry and brittle. As a result hair could fall out.

in the starting up i presumed that. Washing your hair commonly used will strip your hair of your organic oils. this is undesirable, yet, even as i began to get somewhat older my hair were given oiler. So i might want to bathe it the different day. interior the morning it would want to look wonderful yet on the middle of the day it change into truly oiler. So i began to bathe it commonly used its wonderful to attempt this. My hair seems tremendous its smooth and sleek.
