those things aren't a requirement..they are more like tradition...i had my grandmothers rosary beads and her handkerchief....but truly what you need most is to be committed to the one who waits for you at the end of the isle..your wedding can be what ever you want it to be,,talk to you future mother in law if she and you are close..it appears that his s the catholic side of the family..
also i believe that before you can get married in the Church you must take communion, confession and be baptized..once again..speak with the priest chosen to perform the ceremony.. and good luck!! have a happy and beautiful marriage!

I am a catholic and yes I do practice. I am too young to marry, but my whole life my religion has been the centre of my life.
I assume that you have converted or are already practicing catholic faith. It is good to go to a few masses to get the feel of the faith. First of all, one must be sure that love is the reason for marriage and that you are sure about it. Contact the priest about reservations and other mass preparations he may suggest.
No rosaries or other items are needed. One can wear a dress (classic white, or if you have had children you are supposed to wear off-blue. This was the case for my brother's wedding because they had my nephew before engagement). Catholic marriages are fairly simple in that matter. No real traditions are material, but one must be sure, except for the rings, that's about it.
There are of course superstitions that some people believe in that say "something old and something new; something white and something blue", but I personally don't believe in that. You may, of course, make your own predictions. I hope my advice has been a help. My best piece of advice would be to contact a priest for further inquiry.

The most important things that makes a wedding a marriage are
+ The couple
+ The priest or deacon
+ The witnesses
+ The vows
+ The rings
Almost everything else is only traditional gift wrapping.
Keep those traditions that are meaningful to you and yours and do not keep those that are not.
With love in Christ.

Well, number 1, you need to be Catholic
2 - most parishes will require weeks of counseling so if you have any questions like this, you can cover them then.

what you need is to see the priest he will talk with both of you and decide if your even allowed to be married . . you don't need to have any of the things you mentioned .
you do need to have faith in Jesus Christ and the wiliness to commit to all that marriage and love is as defined in the holy bible.
