yes, you have to go to the interview. Relax, be yourself and confidence is also important. It sounds to me like you are not very confidant and you will not succeed in life no matter what you do, if you don`t believe in yourself.
An Interview is for the employer to meet and get to know you. To see if you could do that job and excel.
SNAP OUT OF IT! Even if you don`t get this job, make shure you learn from this interview. Ask questions, show them that even if you are not the most qualified YOU WILL LEARN.
Good Luck!!!!

This is a fear that stays only as long you do not face an interview. As far as I know the ones who are initially shy become the most confident later on. May be a balancing act by Mother Nature!

And interview is not the only way to jobs. The moment you excel in something, it be writing, a programming lanuage, web designing, people rush to hire you out these days. So, best of luck!

But the best thing I know of life is not to be bothered by successes or failures, but to keep going. For me that is the hallmark of a human being.

It looks like you can't force yourself to prepare any better for this interview - so just go to it and do it. You do need to interview to get this job, and most other jobs. But the worst thing is to delay interviews or not show up for one at all.

You'll do better if you don't pressure yourself that your career is hopeless if you do badly in this interview. Try to keep in mind that every interview gives you experience to do better at the next interview. Also, if you really blow this interview, it may motivate you to really prepare for future interviews, because you've experienced the embarrassment of being unprepared.

Whatever else happens, be courteous and thank the interviewer for seeing you. If the interviewer tells you at your meeting that you won't get this job, ask him/her for tips on interviewing, and thank him/her for any honest feedback you get, even if it is painful to hear.
