hello... well actually a banana is also know as a chocolate disguised as a fruit!!! when bananas are green they are full of starch which is quite high in calories kindda like breads and when they are yellow this starch turns into sweet sugar which is also high in calorie so my advice to dont eat bananas before u go to bed!!!

Depends on the amount. A small one per day is not fattening, but bananas contain lots of carbohydrates. Just balance your total carbohydrates, and you will be fine. Best time to eat banana is in fact before the gym: it will help you build muscles.

A banana has between 70 calories (for a very small one) and 150 (very large one), but it is not as fattening as people say. It does have more sugar than other fruits, but it also has fiber and potassium. It is bad for diabetics and for people who need to be on reduced potassium diet, but it is good for healthy people.
If you binge on bananas that you've covered in whipped cream and chocolate, you will gain weight, but if you eat one or two plain bananas, it's a sensible snack that is very heart-healthy.

Wow, you made me wonder about your weight for you to think that ONE banana at night when you get hungry is fattening.
First of all, it would be good to say that any food can be fattening if you eat too much of it, because all foods have calories.
Bananas have a high carbohydrate content, and this is probably why people think they are fattening.
The key is moderation. If you eat one banana every night when your body needs food, and you haven't eaten too much the entire day, then I'd say it wouldn't add much. But of course, if you eat a dozen of them, on top of three full meals during the day and mid-meal munchings, then it all adds up.
Try not to worry about your weight too much, and if you must eat, remember to exercise regularly to work the extra calories off.

Avocados are fattening but a banana isnt. The reason why people think its fattening is because it takes 6 hours to digest ONE! So ya, hope this helps.

if you have a lot, it adds up, but in general it's not that bad. bananas are about 100 calories each.
