No. I am sorry you feel that way. Please remember that all human beings are sinners. You shouldn't blame Jesus Christ on the actions of a few of His misguided followers.

I once worked with 7 preachers and the owner of the company was also a Highly respected Preacher in the community; I was their token sinner they needed me bad. The owner would send me to the liquor store and have me by all different types of alcohol for me to give out to his customers that way he wasn't sinning (even though he payed for it.) He also payed me to get a job with another company his competition an steal their product plans so he could build the same thing. Now if that isn't a good Christian I don't know what is. Yes I think the majority is in it for the money; Hell I would have a lot more money now if I had joined them; they were even willing to teach me to preach they wanted me to become an Evangelist I had to leave I could handle the hypocrisy any longer 5 years was more than I could stand.

Yes I believe this happens more than most people care to admit. There are a lot of gullible people out there who are in a great deal of emotional pain. These so called hucksters take advantage of them and to me that is a terrible sin. All you need to do is watch the way so called religious people treat those of other religions to see how truly intolerable a lot are. They use their religion as a way to treat others in abomidable ways. This has been going on since the beginning of time.

I think brainwashing is rare and a lot of people have enough sense to walk away from it.
The superiority thing isn't exclusive to religion. People use education, money, influence, position, attractiveness, success or any number of other things to feel superior.

No. You didn't say "some" people, you just said people. Some people do, yes. But some athiests do the same thing. There are some bad, self-seeking people in all walks of life.

I am sure that some people use it to further gain power over some people, to make a profit. This is clearly evident when you flip through the TV in the morning and come across religious people asking for money for Miracle Water.
For the most part I would answer "no". Christians are not generally in it for power, social empowerment, or money. They genuinely believe that Christ is their savior.

it didn't come to me at first...that religions are sinful and makes everyone in it turn away from having their personal relationship with God, to be realized,
So YES.
God's people live by faith.
Spiritual unity rather than division because of man-influenced doctrines.

yes. Religion is mainly used as the Justification for hatred and violence. Its not usually the actual reason for war, its what 'justifies' it.
