I think it was probably real, they used to think troy was a fairy tale too, until they found it.

The legend might be based on a natural disaster in the Aegean or the Mediterranean Sea before the Minoan Culture's time. We know that there was overseas trade before the Minoan's, and the coasts around these two seas were populated for at least 2000 years before the use of "linear A", we just don't have evidence of the people who did the trading over seas.

I think its real. It is possible that a huge land mass could have broken off and sunk into the ocean. A sunami, volcano eruption or some huge earthquake could have done this and changed the earth considerably. We can speculate what will happen to a reasonable degree and we know the earth does change that is fact. Who knows, maybe atlantis was actually even the ARTIC and it FROZE over. One day it might thaw and we will find it. I cannot believe that people would say a place existed when it didn't its kinda a big thing to make up dont you think.

They found Troy? Really? Where's your proof of that? Last I heard they had 5 "possible" sites of Troy but could not prove any of them. Not being mean here, I would really like to know, please send me a link, thanks.

A place called Atlantis was probably real at one point, but I think the myths and legends about them have been inflated over time.

I justwatched part of a documentary on this and they think it was located somewhere off the coast of Mexico, and they found pieces of it in the ocean between Mexico, Cuba and some of the small islands in that area

Like all myths it probably has some element to truth about it.

To be honest, when I think of Atlantis, I think of Stargate. ;-)

Atlantis is another galaxy! I think Plato found a worm hole to another galaxy.

I think it existed. I too think there is usually an element of truth to myths.
