I am thinking of working on a cruise ship and wondered how other people found this.

I have not, but I had 2 friends who did shortly after high school. They loved being paid while being in a constant paradise. I wish I would have gone with them. After your shift is over, you can do anything on the boat. Cruise's are also big "singles vacations", you can meet alot of chics who want to have a little fun if you know what i mean.

I worked as a deck hand for a gay cruise line for 3 seasons and saw some amazing places, the work is hard and the hours long and little to no days off. You will want to look for a US flag carrier and inquire about salary my salary was $25.00/day + gratuities which are about $3.00 per passenger the pay is not much but the good thing is you have virtually no expenses only for incidentals such as toothpaste, shampoo etc. I would recomend applying at clipper cruise line or for a river cruise line such as the Delta Queen larger cruise lines tend to be foreign flag carriers registered in places like the Bahamas and hire mainly foreign crew. The drama tends to be pretty high on board cruise lines just my own personal experience but it was an experience I am very glad I experienced good luck mate.
