Even the Marines have standards. If you can't find them, they don't want you.

The Marine Corps fall under the department of the Navy. If you want to get combat training, but don't want all the gung ho nonsense that the marines put you through, join the Navy and become a Seabee or get assigned to the new Navy Riverine forces. You will get extensive experience with M-16 rifle, .50 Cal machine gun, 240G squad machine gun, and all kinds of tactical training with not nearly as much brainwashing. If you join the Seabees you will even get a marketable skill like Electrician, Plumber, Carpenter, Steelworker, Mechanic, Heavy Equipment operator, or Surveyor. Also, Seabees do not have to go on ships.

www.yellowpages.com See a recruiter they will be happy to explain the difference in the Marines and the Navy.

The Marines are a part of the Department of the Navy. Mainly due to the fact that it is alot smaller branch of the armed forces than the others. Kind of like the Coast Guard which is now under Homeland Security

If I were you I'd be getting the Navy and the Marines straight in your head b4 running off to join them. Otherwise you'll be proving John Kerry right about the military being full of losers and idiots.
