Look at all these hateful replies! Very sad! The funny thing is that Canada is already a part of the United States. Why do you thinks things are so pleasant in Canada? It's due in part to your close proximity to the United States. We're you're biggest trading partner, you're defacto defender, and biggest tourist. In a sense we already are one country. The funny thing is that if we did unify Canadians would end up dominating the House of Representatives and would probably end up running the government!

To Baba Yaga: Our countries may not be married but they are definitely shacked up. Let's make it official.

The replies seem "hateful" for a reason. One of which is that world-wide opinion of the United States is at an all time low (BBC survey released about a month ago), and the second is that Canadians are tired of Americans thinking Canada is some second-rate country that the US can do and say whatever they like with.

The fact that the question "Should Canada become a part of the United States" is even being posted says a lot. You would never see "Should the UK become a part of France" even though both are equally absurd.

Stop posting this, you have gotten your answer several times over

Canada should become part of Australia, from what I hear Canadians are great people and totally cool.

Why should Canada become part of the US? Why not the US becoming part of Canada. They at least have a health care system, and their health care system isn't taking advantage of it's citizens. Also their prescriptions are not so expensive that their citizens cannot afford them either. Why is it that you do not hear of students going on a killing rampage in the schools?

Why do you keep posting this same question?

My answer is the same as last time: WTF FOR??? You guys have too many problems. We are quite happy up here THANK-YOU.

Also: we have three MAJOR political parties (at the Federal level):
1. the Conservative Party or "Tories" (currently in office )
2. the New Democratic Party (in Opposition)
3. the Liberal Party (in Opposition)

From what we understand "Liberal" is a dirty word in the USA - such a marriage could never work.
