I was wondering what to do about my daughter, who is 3, that has a low fever of 100F (just noticed this afternoon). I gave her some Tylenol before bed, but I noticed she is tossing and turning. She doesn't seem to have any cold symptoms and hasn't complained of any 'oww-eys'. I plan on calling doc in the morning, but does anyone have any thoughts?

depends on how long she has been having the fever. do not take it litely! although it could be nothing at all, this is also how some infectious diseases start out. if it's been more than 48 hours and the fever did not go down after giving your child a tylenol, call your pediatrician right away!

wish you and your little one all the best! Hope it's nothing :)

Hi!! She is only 3. Fever is a defence mechanism to show the body has a good immunity system.. Check with doctor --she might come down with viral flu or some other infections. Being 3--expect more childhood sicknesses and infections. This is the age when the body is building up the immunity system. Look at her teeth--any new molar coming up.?? Any new tooth?/ Sometime, new tooth brings fever. No matter what--please do not give ASPIRIN for fever!! Give PARACETAMOL-- this is safer drug. One caution--give paracetamol the correct dosage to a young child. Usually every 6-8 hours apart. Do not give any other drugs which might contain PARACETAMOL.Check ALL DRUGS BEFORE GIVING TO HER!! Give too much of paracetamol will lead to paracetamol poisoning. ALWAYS ASK DOCTOR!!!!! If she has fever now, continue to give fever medicine every 8 hours according to instruction. Please do not give her a sponge bath. Let her body cool down by itself comfortably!!! Too much cold water will send her shivering!!NO sponge bath!!! It is better for the body to sweat it out. Make her comfortable. If fever comes back after 3 to 4 hours especially fever medicine had been taken--then you need to see the doctor.Maybe, she need an antibiotic for the condition she is now in. Check her throat to see if it is red. If it is--then it could be she is down with throat infection or flu. Since she is 3 --do not delay to see a doctor. Do not allow fever to go too high. Please BE COOL!!! I know what it is like to worry!! Please do not worry because doctors are the best people that can help your child. If you feel REAL WORRY--Then GO TO SEE THE DOCTOR NOW!!! He might give the medicine to overcome the infection and YOU WILL FEEL MUCH BETTER!! Probably, be able to sleep much better!! Good Luck!!!

My daughter suffering now from teh same thing. from experience fever viruses usually last for 3 days max and can be accompanied with no other symptoms especially if she is not complaining. Just give her the fever reducer and follow her temperature. It will soon be over don't worry.

Ask her how she feels. supply her some young babies aspirin which could help. there is likewise a product observed as cool fabric. I even have used it and it incredibly works super! it incredibly is a small fabric that has some form of drugs in it. you place on your babies head and it feels chilly. It helps shrink a fever. it incredibly is stumbled on at Albertsons, and it does not value lots. sturdy success!

i have been feeling that way too... little warm but no owies. i would want my mommy to give me my medicine, lay down with me and rub my head or back... my daughter likes when i rub her butt. she is very silly about her butt. but yeah, try laying with her and rubbing her head to comfort her. that is the #1 cure for a little girl who doesnt feel good!!
