They only seem to find power in numbers. Its like they can't do anything for themselves. They have a preacher to tell them what the bible means and what's right and wrong. Why not write a bible that everyone can understand?

*sigh* I'm about to say this with no base of supporters:

1. being alone is not as effective as being in a group is. You can't function as well as separate people than with a team.

2. It's a community. We aren't anti-social mavericks wandering around because we have the same goals and benefit from socializing.

3. I have read through Genesis to 1 Samuel chapter 18 without help from any preacher to explain what it means. The Bible is pretty clearly written, and is only not considered so when people make the argument for why there are preachers/pastors.

4. The Bible hasn't been rewritten, because whenever anything is revised, there is someone's opinion printed into it. The very idea of having the Bible worded as it is, is to keep its authenticity and prevent any more manipulation of interperetation than already present.

5. I can do plenty for myself.

I'm a Christian and I'm not afraid to stand alone. As far as writing a Bible someone can understand, it wouldn't be the Bible when you were finished. If you want to know what the Bible says, study it with people who can explain things. It really does make sense if you try. What exactly do you mean when you say stand alone? I do not need a crowd behind me to praise my God. I would never denounce my God, even with a gun to my head. I have enough faith that I have no fear of death itself, just the process of it. God Bless You! Keep searching. God places the questions on our hearts. We search and we eventually find. Are you a searcher?

First I have no problem standing alone, saying that I do because there are other Christians in the world would be like saying your afraid to because there are other Atheists in the world.
Second the Bible was written thousands of years ago in another language. I suppose if was to have been written today we could make it easier too understand. It is really not hard if you can read the ancient Hebrew and Korai Greek

I stand with Jesus by my side. But apart from Him I am usually by myself. I am the only christian at work, & nearly all my friends are non-christians as well. I read the bible for myself. Not all christians are afraid to stand alone without other people by their side, God will always be near. People are people, some are independant others are not. I have found when I talk about my faith to non-christians they wait till others come to back them up before they disagree with what I say, & decide they will ridicule me for my belief. Most people won't stand alone, it's not just christians.

I have an Amplified bible that is written in modern day English and has the correct context of word interpretations with-in each sentence. It's very easy to read and understand. Also I don't go to church and the Lord has taught to lean on no one but Himself.

There is strength in numbers...and the Devil is a very powerful thing to be up against for Christians. GOD is LOVE and that's a powerful thing and it presides evil in the end...but sometimes evil presides here on earth for a while, unfortunately. Well, it dominates if people let it or choose for it to. Some things are unexplainable.

1. Do you mean stand alone before God? Because I know I am not good enough to do so. I must have Christ as my advocate.

Or do you mean in fellowship with other brothers and sisters? We are told not to forsake the gathering of ourselves together. Yes, we become stronger as a person by interacting with like-minded individuals, this is true for every philosophy and religion.

2. The harder it is to attain a deeper understand the more worthwhile it becomes. Try the NIV translation of the Bible, you may find it more to your liking.

People can seek to understand the Bible on their own. I don't have any minister interfering with my beliefs, and I read the Greek New Testament and translate it word for word what I think the original author meant, I don't care what the English versions say. And I have never been disappointed.

I've stood alone on plenty of occasions, so I beg to differ.

Anyway, sparring with you constitutes naught but a waste of time, for you possess no desire to listen. You want to duel, and matters of faith are not decided by debate, but by study and prayer. "Christian" hangers-on who depend on the words of others are not the people to whom you should speak, but rather to one who is a member in good standing, educated not by the dark robes of a false priesthood but by the Light of Truth who will not lie and promises light and knowledge to those who ask with sincere heart, having real intent and faith in Christ.

As for the Bible, if it were too easy, he would have to hold all men accountable for every echelon of understanding. Instead, our merciful Lord judges man according to that portion of knowledge which he is willing and able to bear, else twould be unjust of him.

Was that void of group strength enough for you?
