My subscription expires in two days,I'm running XP right now but will be switching to Vista sometime in the future. So I need security software that is compatible with both.I currently have Norton and the 2006 version is not compatible when I run the Vista upgrade advisor.

Windows Live OneCare is definitely recommendable. It is a breeze to install and configure and does not use that many resources such as other notorious security software. It will automatically tune up your computer unobtrusively, and for $50 you get a license to use it on 3 computers.

Oh, and compatible with both Windows XP and Windows Vista. :-)

I commend you for wanting to get rid of Nortan! Its a step in the right direction. We have tried and tested most of the software out there, and there is always one and only one that comes out on top every time. That is CA. I have personally used CA for over 6 years now and will never get rid of it. You can take it for a test drive for 30 days. You will not regret it at all. And their software is Vista ready, although I'm not in too big of a rush for vista, I have test drove it, and Im going to stay with my XP pro for a good while.
http://www.ca.com Look under home products, then trials.

Its worth it. Also you can review some of our tech reviews of the software on our web site under security center. The other products norten, McAffe and others will be updated soon!

If you have any questions feel free to e-mail me on the e-mail address on my site. Let me know how it goes!

There isn't a "best" but Kaspersky Internet Security is pretty good. However I don't know if its Vista friendly.
