If he was a minister, he could have performed the wedding ceremony for the sister of his wife. Thereby it could be said that he "married" her. If he died after the wedding then it would be true that he "married his widow's sister".
It is a play on the word "married".

The man is a clergyman. He married his wife's sister (while he was still alive, of course) by performing his wife's sister's wedding ceremony. Then he died. So he married his widow's sister. Must make for some awkward situations at family reunions.

Not possible. He would perforce be dead. To further clarify per your request, he would be dead because it was a BLACK WIDOW. The spider bit him and left his wife (his widow) alone without the benefit of his company, and so, also, the wife's sister would be bereft of his company and could not marry him.
