Jeff Gordon has a lifetime contract with Hendrick Motorsports

Jeff Gordon may have a lifetime contract with Hendrick, but not as a driver. And, whether he has a lifetime contract at all is, I'm sure, not a matter of public record.

Dale Jr. doesn't have a lifetime contract either, as the current disputes between him and Teresa testify. However, I don't see Junior going to RCR unless Childress gets rid of Harvick, which I don't see happening anytime soon. Junior and Harvick may get along, but their driving styles and team styles are completely different and all but incompatible.

The only NASCAR driver who can be said to have a lifetime contract as a driver would be Robby Gordon, since he is the only driver to own his own team. Michael Waltrip would be another contender, but since his wife has a say-so the likelihood that he has a lifetime contract to drive is fairly low.

By the way, the only current NASCAR driver who can be said to be living out a lifetime career as a driver would be Morgan Shepard. Even though he qualifies for very few races, he remains the oldest certified driver in NASCAR and will likely continue to be the oldest driver to attempt to qualify for at least a couple more years.

Are you talking about with the car owner? Well, It's not Dale,Jr. His contract ends this year. All of us Jr fans are hoping he goes to RCR in 08. Jeff Gordon has a lifetime deal with Hendrick.
