A heartfelt letter is generally always a beautiful gift. And doesn't cost anything! We sometimes give my daughter's teachers things like gift-cards for a nice dinner, or something related to her personal interests (yoga, reading, movies, etc).

I gave my daughter's teacher a candle from Yankee Candle and wrote the following note:

"I wanted to give this to you to remind you that you are a light in my child's life. She will never forget you. Thank you for all that you do."

A simple card with a nice message inside. A box of chocolates. Or an apple and a scroll with a thank you message.

Mention something specific the person did for you. Did he help you with your spelling? Can you now write him a note?

Did she help you with math?

Explain how that person's help has changed your life, and let that person know they've made a difference.
