The word is attunement. It is a treatment involving laying the hands on another and channeling energy to specific points in the body to heal. The energy being channeled prana energy, which refers to a vital, life-sustaining force of living beings and vital energy in natural processes of the universe.

The attunement process in Reiki is where the Master/Teacher will open you to the Reiki channel of Universal energy. Attunement is a process where knowledge and energy are transmitted from one person to another so that the other person will know and experience all that the first person has learned and can build upon that knowledge.
