Ok guys felt guily for days and actually tracked down the 7 month old to try again, its a good thing I checked on her today as they already transfered her to the humane society and she was almost up to be put to sleep, $155.00 later and now i have the agressive kitten dying to be in the same room as me and my 7 year old.. two females seem like they love eachother and have fun palying but sometimes the older cat wants to chill and strut here and there without the young one all over her... tried seperating them for a week last time, right now they're on a time out as the older one seems to be once agin showing signs of being mad or jealous of the agressive kitten, and on the other side the kitten has once again cornered my 7 year old in the corner fighting...ok cat loevrs fire away PLEASE TELL ME WHAT TO DO TO IMPLEMENT THIS CAT BUT YET MAKE MY OLDER CAT STILL FEEL LOVED AND LIKE SHE"S THE BOSS???? Dear JMeezy*****

Firstly before I answer your question, let me ask one of your answerers the following::

When you have been to your doctor and had your very own nails "declawed", and you feel quite satisfied and happy after your gruelling operation, pleased with yourself that it was totally painless and you look ravishingly beautiful without your nails.............and while you're at it have you teeth taken out to!!!!
You are totally "clueless" with regards to declawing cats. Visit the websites and have a good look before you tell others they should do it....

JMeezy....... If you were in South Africa, I would give you a big hug and a kiss for tracking down the kitten!!!!!!! thank you! thank you from all at cat land!!!! hee hee.

Your kitten is doing what all kittens do. They are so playful and full of mischief!!! The oldest cat will definately be annoyed, at first, but eventually when he has had enough of "little tiger" will either smack him with his paw or hiss , turn around and go to another corner. They will eventually become best buddies, as long as you give them equal attention and don't leave anyone out.!!
Just relax! remember kitty is just playing!!!! and also seeing just how far he can push them around??? before they snap!!!

Seperate the kitten and the cat.The kitten should be put in a room with toys.Make sure the older cat gets some love and affection.Perhaps it is jealous. Are you sure the kitten is no tbeingplayfully aggressive. This is the older cats territory. If you cant manage then I suggest you advertise by putting adds up on shop windows. preferably advertising for a person who does not have children and has the patience to deal with the kitten. It may take time for the cat to adjust to the new resident. As for the lad you are lucky this is a kitten and not an aggressive puppy.Give the boy some toys for the kitten to play with.

Aggressive or playing? A lot of people call that the 4 o'clock crazies when kittens do that. Cats are hunters predators if you will and it is part of their growing up to be aggressive in their play. Trains them for hunting later on in life. As far as the older cat. Let them work it out. Your old cat boxes the kitten a few times and it will get the hint.
As far as your 7 seven old is concerned when the kitten starts the 4 o'clock crazies and goes after your seven year old just swat it with a rolled up piece of news paper if all else fails.

well i think its just going to take time. and if the little one is aggressive i would confine her to a certain bathroom for the most part and take her out when you can keep an eye on things that way you can keep your child safe. and your older cat will still feel like the boss, but it's gonna take 2-4 weeks and i bet by the end of it the 2 of them will be sisters. as far as your child goes children come first and if the cat is going to hurt your child then you may have to let the cat go. you don't have to take her to the humane society tho. you can post flyers at vet clinics, and pet stores, even grocery stores. and i'm sure someone will take her for free. secondly if it's the claws that are the problem and her scratching your child, you can get her declawed, i would recommend a vet that has laser surgery, much less painful. hope that helps.

It's really hard on an older cat to adjust to another cat in its territory. As cats age, they become more solitary and getting another cat is not a good idea. The older cat will never totally accept this new cat. I would put an ad in the paper and adopt it out, to avoid bringing it to the humane society, where if they can't adopt it out, it will get put down.
