Can i take more pain med?I have taken 1 vicodin and 1200Mg of Ibuprofen in since this morning.?

I am still in severe pain for a tooth that needs to heal from an infection. I still need more medicine and am afraid if i take more vicodin it will be too much..Please assist.

as long as u eat don't drive you can go with every four hours till u reach a point the pain stops and adjust to that level that works, but food and water and no driving is recommended the 800 milligram jobs are great if u got them from the dentist too~if they didn't give u some ask for the 800~there better than vicodin for teeth~vicodin works on the mind centers not pain locations

Call an emergency room at a local hospital and they can get someone in the pharmacy department to answer your question with more knowledge than I have about pain medication. There might be an 800-number on the pill bottle for you to call, too, with this question.

Go easy on the vicodin. Take too much and you'll get sleepy and your respiratory system could slow down to the point that you die from a slight overdose. A boss I had back in the 1970s died from taking just a little too much percoset (sp?) for a broken ankle. Much wasn't found in his blood, but it was just enough to cause him to stop breathing while asleep.

Anbesol is an over the counter pain medication for oral pain. I used it once for a gum infection and it killed the pain. Tastes terrible, but that was years ago when I used it.

You have to take the medication as presribed by the Dentist. Vicodin and ibuprofen ar two different drug catagories. If you are concerned about overdosing call any pharmacy, they can help you. But if you take the Ibuprofen as directed by the dentist and the vicodin as directed by the dentist and your pain is not resolved. I just went thru pain meds with my Dentist and if you take them allternetly( Vic on the first morning then ibuf the next,) BUT you have to take them every four hrs at the start don't wait until you feel the pain, If you wait it wont take the pain away fully before it is wearing off. Do stop when the pain slows or stops. XTRA Strong Salt in warm water is wonderfull for infection.

sweetheart, I'm certainly no expert, and I don't know what strength your vicodin is, so I can't give you an answer, but I will tell you who can. call your local hospitals emergency room and ask them, they always have a doctor on call in the E.R., and plenty of nurses who can answer questions like this. be sure to tell them the strength of the vicodin as well as the ibuprofen.

Heat water and salt and hold it in your mouth, or use hydrogen peroxide.Do not swallow either one. Both should help your infection.
