i have a 1996 chevy lumina and i need like $500 or $600 to fix it would it be best to sell it and get a newer car??????

ps it has 198,000mils

the car needs tie rod and 4 tires and fuel system service the cars ok (like body ect.)

The average driver will put 20,000 kms on a car in a year, that's 200,000 to 210,000 on yours. You have 198,000 miles on yours so you are not that out of line on the mileage, it is a little high though.

Do you think you can buy a new car and afford payments comfortably? You didn't say what was wrong with the one you have now so will $600 turn it back into a reliable vehicle? If not, get rid of it. If so, think about being $15,000 in debt again.

You did not say what needs fixing and how good the condition of the car is beside the mileage.. Tires, brakes, body, interior, paint, steering, ect. If the car is in nice well cared for condition it would be worth putting in that much if you are sure that is all it would take to fix it.. If the car is in rough shape at almost 200,000 miles, it is time to look for something newer. Condition is everything on automobiles.
