Nowhere but the Grave -------------- WHY??? U ASK??
Because that is what the bible tells us============

"The body without spirit is dead." (James 2:26)

Ecclesiastes 3:19 For there is an eventuality as respects the sons of mankind and an eventuality as respects the beast, and they have the same eventuality. As the one dies, so the other dies; and they all have but one spirit, so that there is no superiority of the man over the beast, for everything is vanity. 20 All are going to one place. They have all come to be from the dust, and they are all returning to the dust.

Ecclest 9:5 For the living are conscious that they will die; but as for the dead, they are conscious of nothing at all, neither do they anymore have wages, because the remembrance of them has been forgotten. 6 Also, their love and their hate and their jealousy have already perished, and they have no portion anymore to time indefinite in anything that has to be done under the sun.

Jesus raised his friend Lazarus from death. But before performing that miracle, he consoled Martha, Lazarus’ sister, by saying: “Your brother will rise.” She confidently replied: “I know he will rise in the resurrection on the last day.” (John 11:23, 24) She evidently expected all of God’s servants to be resurrected at some point in the future.

What exactly does a resurrection imply? The Greek word for “resurrection” (a·na'sta·sis) literally means “standing up.” It denotes a rising from the dead. This may sound incredible to some, yet after saying that the dead would hear his voice, Jesus said: “Do not marvel at this.” (John 5:28) The resurrections that Jesus himself performed on earth give us confidence in the Bible’s promise that the dead in God’s memory will awake from their long “sleep.”
That is the only hope for those who die, to be resurrected at some point in the future.

Reincarnation:
Because the soul is energy and energy cannot be created or destroyed, just transferred.
Because so many who have had out of body experiences see a 'light at the end of a tunnel'. What do you think the first thing a baby sees when it's born? And, how many babies are stillborn, or die in labor? (the numbers are proportionate, leaving room for abortions and people who don't report their Out of Body Experiences)
I came up with this really cool concept when I was about 10. I told my mom about it, and she told me I was wrong and just blew it off. It was basically that, if you don't want to go to heaven, that you could go to earth for a little while as a baby. Maybe that is why young children die, and teenagers. They just didn't want to be gone from heaven for very long. I had no exposure to anything having to to with reincarnation. When I was a little older, I read about this concept in a book and was amazed.

I am actually torn on this, like millions of other people. One, I believe that there is a nothingness, purgatory which is the same as before we were born, no thoughts, no emotions, nothing, the other is based on what I have started to believe since being Pagan almost 10 years ago, that life always has meaning, and once you die, you can choose to either be born again (reincarnated) to make the world even better and learn from your mistakes in this life, or ask the Mother [Gaia] to reclaim your soul and merge with her, where you can choose to either exist in purgatory or the Green Gardens (Elysian Fields, SummerPlace, heaven, which have you).

If you are Christian, than nowhere as the soul dies with body, according to every Bible. It says the soul is the blood.

As for the spirit of life, the Bible says we share that with all forms of life, neither being greater than the other.

When you die, everything you are is either recorded in the Book of Life, or it isn't. At the resurrection, it is downloaded into a new body.

Death is inevitable. The thief on the cross knew when his would occur, but we can not predict our own. After his death, the crucified criminal went to live in paradise with Jesus. Some of us will also live eternally in God's presence. But others will experience everlasting torment, forever separated from Him.
If we receive Jesus as our Savior, our penalty for sin is paid. We are adopted into God's family, and Heaven is our eternal home. If we reject Jesus, we remain alienated from the Lord and under condemnation for our sin. We are destined to experience eternal judgment. God won't accept any of man's excuses because there is no acceptable defense for unbelief. (Acts 4:12)

If your good, your soul will go to a place of happiness. If you are a hardened sinner you will go to a place called hell where you will be punished for your sins. both places you will wait for the resurrection and Judgment day. The why is that you have been given the light of Christ to know good from evil. If you choose to ignore that light you will have to pay the price. To know Jesus your savior can help by washing away your sins with his atonement.

According to the definition of the word soul in the Bible, it can only be dead or non-existant when the person dies. However, the promise that God gives is that any human who is alive in his memory (whether righteous or unrighteous) will be resurrected and given a chance to live forever.

Jesus' tomb is empty.. He rose from the dead, scaring away the elite Roman soldiers appointed to guard His tomb.
Jesus appeared to over 500 eyewitnesses at one time after rising from the dead.
Jesus said those who believe in Him He would bring to Heaven.
Jesus also said those who do not believe are cast into darkness.

So unless anyone wants to show me His body - I'm going with the only one in history who has credibility to talk about life after death.

well purgatory isn't really a 'waiting room', more of a cleansing room. catholics believe that nothing imperfect can enter heaven, and purgatory is where souls who are not perfectly good or perfectly bad go to be cleansed (by fire) before entering Heaven. (yes, I obviously believe in it!) I kinda explained that perfect souls go to Heaven souls who do not choose heaven got to hell....I'm tired!

Depends, I believe IF there is an afterlife, and that those who have lived virtuous lives will go on to experience greater fulfillment, pleasure, and challenge. Those who have led lives characterized more by vice than by virtue will be separated from kin and doomed to an existence of dullness and gloom. The precise nature of the afterlife - what it will look like and feel like - is beyond our understanding and is dealt with symbolically in the myths.
