ok, here's the thing... I know nothing about wine, and want to learn about it, or at least find one that I like a lot. all I know is that I don't think that I like red wine very much, and I prefer white wine. I bought some pinet grigio today at the grocery store, and it's really not that great... could someone reccomend something a little bit sweeter? (or tell me if I will I eventually grow to enjoy it?) I tried doing some reseach myself about wine, but the abundence of info on it on the internet has overwhelmed me, and I turned to yahoo for some comfort. so basially, a few BASIC facts or tips about wine would be greatly apprciated... thanks!

I am not into wine... and I actually don´t like either red or white or pink... but there is this wine Argentinian: Navarro Correas with 3 grape types (Malbec, cabernet, and Merlot) which I find very pleasant when "I have to drink"... so my guess would be you will like it too...

Chilean and Argentinian wines with Malbec grape will do too.

I hopr this helps you.

You could also try a different version of pinot grigio, there are many brands and some tend to be sweeter. I suggest buying the wine from a person who sells wine for a living. Look them up in the phone book if you have too. Most places like this also offer wine tastings so you can test it out for yourself before you buy it.

Try a variety of good quality wines (not from the grocer's) and decide for yourself.

There are a lot of things that effect the taste, including storage.

For white wines, maybe start with something very light, like Fume Blanc, and go from there.

Maybe get the wine for dummies book, so you know what some of the types are and which are generic names and which varietals.

For £10 you may actual get a stunning good bottle of white wine from any of the major supermarkets or severe street wine merchants. My own favourites should be: Any New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc (Villa Maria or Nobilo are vineyards to be relied on). regardless of the indisputable fact that a Chilean Sauvignon Blanc pronounced as Montes Alpha is likewise impressive. From France you ought to get a Sancerre (Sauvignon Blanc) or Chablis (Chardonnay) - those are wine areas and not in any respect form names. For something slightly diverse, and that could be better effective equipped to spicier dishes, you ought to attempt a Gruner Veltliner (it truly is a grape style) from Austria. for my area i ought to steer away from anyhting in a food market it truly is 0.5-fee. you ought to imagine you're growing a good purchase at the same time as paying for a wine at £4 extremely of its authentic fee of £8. regardless of the indisputable fact that the reality is that £4 probable reflects better effective the authentic fee of the wine, and in hardship-free words a mug ought to purchase it at finished fee. Am taking into consideration the Isla Negra decision in Tesco which looks perennially discounted in Tesco. have interesting !
