I woke up with a rash on my face. It is also swollen. I'm 100% sure its not from a bite. I recently tried a cleanse with cheyenne peppers and the next morning was when I woke up with the rash. Has anyone ever had an allergic reaction to Cheyenne pepper?

Are you saying you used a facial product that contained cayenne pepper, or did you take a tablet that had it? If you put it on your face, what you have is a chemical reaction of the face to the volatile oils in the peppers. Thats why you are supposed to wear gloves when you work with them to prepare them for eating, because they will do a number on your hands. So I am not surprised if you have a red puffy face. Capsium oil is a major ingredient in deep heat athletic rubs, that's where the heat comes from. Facial skin is much more sensitive to that sort of thing than the rest of the body, and would quite likely react the way you describe. An allergic reaction to a food or tablet usually causes you to break out all over, not just the face, although the lips can sometimes swell shortly after you eat whatever you are allergic to. You could be allergic to it, you can be allergic to anything you eat or drink. But if I understand you correctly, what you describe is an irritation caused by the oils in the peppers, and isn't a true allergy. Your poor face, it's been chemically peeled. It will need some extra pampering while you recover, and be very careful in future to test things on a small patch of skin before you cover a large area with it. Test a patch on the inside of the elbow, and wait 24 hours. If you rash there, you know you don't want any more of it on you. In the meantime, go easy on what you put on your face, and take some Benadryl to help ease the worst of the symptoms. Don't even use soap on your face, just water and a nice creamy facial lotion to get the moisture back into it. Hot peppers can be some pretty wicked things for bare skin, I can't even use the rubs much myself because they will eat my skin. Hope things improve for you.

you ought to tell your doc about this..your system reacts severely to the stuff, dont become a police officer because if you have to use red pepper spray on someone you might incapacitate both of you.try eliminating parsley, tomatoe, onion, black pepper, and lentils from yor diet for a couple weeks & see what happens,
