Humping is normal. It is an instinctive move and sometimes an act of dominance. But a neutered cat can also sometimes have sex, but without any sperm and of course no pregnancy can happen.

Cats along with any other animal that loses his man hood will no longer be able to have an orgasm. Orgasm is the act of secreting fluids. These fluids are made in the testicles and there only. Once they are removed it is impossible for the fluids occur. With that said however they would still be able in depending on how late he lost them, would be able to have "an erection" those muscles (really blood flowing to that region) are un-hindered.

This is different than in humans as humans only have their tubs tided and thus the body still produces a lubricant and the bodies misstates this as other fluid and can thus still have an orgasm.

(as a side note some animals use the act of humping as a sign of which animal is dominate)

Hi there...the medical scientific communities have observed in feral cat colonies that neutered animals will exhibit this behaviour to establish dominance--top/alpha cat over other animals or inanimate objects that are threatening to them. Once an animal has been neutered they are unable to experience the hormonal sexual drive.

This is normal. My cat does the same thing. We asked the vet and they do this because they still have the feeling to do these things with teddys etc...

Humping is not always sexual, and cats are strange. Don't worry about it.

Yeah they tend to do that from time to time, you see when something gets neutered the sexual tension doesnt go away, it builds up usually causing pain and massive frustration, I say you should let him do his thing, nothing's coming out anyway. p.s. if you have small children keep them away from horny fluffy.

It can happen, just because the animal is fixed doesnt mean it still wont have the urge to do it.
