am I allowed to call other computers that aren't a MAC if I get the software ?

You can use Skype! It's free computer telephone. But other people do need the software and a microphone as well.

Skype is a program you may want to check out - it lets you call people all over the world and it have cool features like using encrypted numbers and such.

yes you use a prgram called SKYPE it is great and extremly cheap and can replace a standard phone line all you do is dowload it.
