Bulldogs pups are expensive because their heads are large, the birthing is dangerous to the pups and the mothers.
So I doubt you can find one from a breeder for under 1000.
However, if you check out the bulldog rescue websites....they sometimes have puppies....and you will get once for less if you rescue it.
Sigh, I don't have any bulldogs, but I *love* them!

With the English Bulldog, less expensive is not particularly higher. You'll be equipped to seek out one (or a mixture) at a refuge, but no just right breeder will part with one for what you may remember as a "affordable rate." this is considering that the breed could be very intricate to breed - they must be artificially inseminated and the b*tches must have a c-part and can't whelp naturally. Additionally they want various genetic checking out due to the fact they have got a variety of wellness problems. Even a well bred dog could have breathing issues, could snore, is not going to tolerate long bouts of activity, and so forth. A poorly bred canine with have all of these problems expanded through ten AND genetic problems like hip dysplasia (and others.) These dogs are VERY high priced to keep and tend to wish plenty of vet care. I would be cautious and best buy from a breeder who has carried out extensive wellness screenings and has shown their dogs (to show the dogs are to breed typical and not too giant/small.) The dog shall be healthier in the long run.

You will have quite a bit of trouble finding a Bulldog puppy for that price, but you may be able to find an older puppy (like over 12 weeks) or a young adult. Also, the English have a lot of health problems, so you will have to be prepared to shell out quite a bit in vet bills. I love English Bullies, but I decided to get French Bullies because they are smaller, do not drool, and they are a little less prone to health problems.

i raise bulldogs and u don't want to pay less than 2,000 for a puppy. Quality is a must with a bulldog with their health issues. I suggest buying a dog that is 1 or 2 yrs old. You could probably get one under 1,000 and it should already be spayed or neutered. Make sure the dog was from a good breeder. Do your homework!! You could also check with your local bulldog rescue club your local humane society should have the info or google them.

You should try a rescue in your area. Go to http://www.petfinder.org and do a search for bulldogs in your area. That will help you locate a rescure nearby.
