You are right, it drived me crazy and makes me sad, whenever I hear that Christianity is a religon, because it is so not a religion.

From an atheist point of view, having a relationship with god is like having a relationship with Santa Clause. But I have found that people who follow a religion rather than having a personal relationship with their god are much more closed minded. Organized religion introduces fear and misunderstanding. Being a person who has decided for herself/himself is the greatest gift the human brain can let you have.

i'm a Christian, so i won't have the ability to respond to from yet another perspective, yet I even have continually style of theory that's because of the fact Christians tend to chat up greater approximately their ideals and whilst they think of something is faulty than different religions many times. we live in a society the place that's a very enormous deal to disagree with something, we are so fixated on what our rights could be and tend to forget the duty and the outcomes that come from, as an instance, being promiscuous. i'm no longer putting absolutely everyone down right here, that's only the way I even have come to comprehend it.

I understand that organized religion and perceived communication with a specific god concept are not equivalent. "Prayer and Other Forms of Communication" is one ASPECT of religion, but they aren't one in the same. It's like... England is one PART of the United Kingdom but they aren't the same thing.

At the heart of most religions is the relationship with a deity. Your religion is no different in that respect then many other.

Religion is only for unethical people. If you live your life with integrity you will not need religion.
Every single human on the planet knows right from wrong. it is just a matter what they choose to do. Do you really need a stranger that thinks he is special to tell you how to live.
Christians are the worst offenders of goodness, because Christians are allowed "SIN" so long as they ask for forgiveness.
for me there is no room for being unethical. If the only reason you are good is to impress a so called god so you can go to heaven, you are dead wrong. If Christan's love the lord Jesus so much, why do they not live by his way of life. but they prefer to live in a nice house, drive a nice car. eat good food. the only real christian that I have seen or heard about is Mother Theresa of Calcutta.
The rest of you are egocentric liars

Psst...why do I have to care about this? Do you understand the difference between my job and my hoped for career? Do you care? Didn't think so.

Actually...I think more along the lines of those who are "religious" and those who are Spiritual... I tend to like Spiritual people better. But they don't necessarily follow your god, and maybe not even any...

I am prompted to ask whether you have a relationship with Santa Clause or Winnie-the-Pooh.

No?

Why not? Because they don't exist in any real sense of the word.

Now, the interesting thing about atheists is that they have the same opinion of God as you do about Santa and Pooh.

I hate religion not a fictional god. And yes, we know the difference - the people who are delusional are the people who have a fictional relationship with an imaginary friend.
