Example: The other night I'm doing my taxes online, half way through Internet Explorer crashes for no reason what so ever. I wasn't on any other website or had any other program running in the background.
I don't hate Windows but it does aggrevate me often enough. You can tell the operating system is bloated and with Vista's new requirements just proves that. Microsoft has a want to keep legacy programs and peripherals around (older stuff) and to keep it compatible it must encode Windows for that. This is also what has brought security issues upon Windows.
The Mac isn't full proof, I've had mine for over a month now and enjoy using it more than I do a PC. I've yet to have it crash and have only had one instance of a program freezing up.
As for the games go you have to realize that most computers use Windows still and therefore game makers will make more money from PC users since its the larger market.
The Mac is just more secure and trimmed down than Windows is. It doesn't have the lag or the glitches that Windows have and thats one of the reasons more people like me are switching to them.

I remember back in 2001 when Windows XP came out. I was one of the first to get an upgrade copy of it for my computer (I purchased my upgrade copy within a week and couldn't wait to get it on my computer).
Vista, on the other hand, I don't want anything to do with. My how times have changed.
For me, it isn't so much an issue of just Windows, it is Microsoft that I have started having problems with. From telling us how we can and can not use their software (i.e., Vista Home can not be used with virtual machines, as just one of many, many examples), to installing spyware on our computers (the validation checks regularly send info about you and your Windows computer back to Microsoft), to being overpriced (full version, not the upgrade, of Apple's OSX is $130, Linux is a free download... Windows Vista? $200-$400 for the full version), to taking free and open standards and changing them so they only work with MS products (HTML, Java, etc.), to not supporting other file formats other than their own (try to save a Word file into WordPerfect format and see what happens), to embedding products that don't really need to be embedded (like making Internet Explorer to be an integrated part of the operating system), and last but not least, Microsoft is a convicted monopoly in the U.S. and the E.U., along with several other countries. That is hardly an admirable trait. I heard someone say that there is nothing wrong with becoming a monopoly, it is when you try to keep that monopoly that the problem starts, and Microsoft has done everything in their considerable power to keep their monopoly.
One of my New Year's resolutions is to completely remove all Microsoft products from my home computer, and I see no reason why I won't (or shouldn't) be able to keep that one.

Microsoft is a big company and many people dislike big companies. Not sure why - the consumers are the reason for the companies becoming big.
Love them or hate them, Microsoft is insanely successful and isn't about to quit being successful. There is relatively no competition for Microsoft, because they actually do make the best products when you consider the entire package. Note that Windows is a fantastic OS considering all the apps and hardware it has to support. I challenge you to find anything out there that has the stability of Windows with the same incredible demands.
The Linux community is basically a group of arrogant people who believe they can do better. Unfortunately, the mostly egotistical group of people would never dream of helping those users that believe their new DVD burner does a great job of holding their drink. Microsoft actually has decent technical support.

Windows has always been praticality over usability untill vista. It was the system where you could have one click installs. MAc have always had better usability and security untill vista. Now vista has Areo which makes windows look beutiful and security that can't be beat, even by a mac. Thats another reason people are mad at microsoft. Many of Vistas features reasemble MAC. Even Microsoft admits this.
But the main reason is microsoft has had a monopoly since the late 80's on computer software. There the most widespread company and theres no way anyone is going to be able to beat them

It is not true that I hate microsoft windows, it is just that you never buy a new operating system for at least 8 months after it has been released to let fixes for most of the bugs to be created and the price will drop

You invested in Apple you got a decision decision for Microsoft and decide it to flow down. all of your friends hate Microsoft and also you opt on to be "between the gang". all of your friends love Microsoft and also you opt on to be a insurrection. you imagine mild switches are difficult to operate so that you opt on to purchase an Apple.

People love putting money on the under dog. Being big and powerful has its drawbacks, it's criticism. The bigger they are the more people are going to criticize them.
