The next relationship I have(fall in love) will be the one that lasts forever. Is that a good way to approach it?

It is a good "attitude" but you have to accept the fact that it may not be your "last" love. But, going into the relationship with a positive attitude is by far better than expecting failure.

It's better than cynicism, but one should not put so much stock in the unknown. There is always a possibility that the next relationship will be a poor one and by insisting that it will be forever has some obvious negative consequences. One should assess every potential relationship with an open mind and should not predetermine the result of a relationship that has not even started.

Not at all.

People want relationships that will last forever, but they make decisions about forever before they know if it's even possible.

I've fallen in love with girls before that I would have ended up divorcing if I had made that rigid of a decision.

Marriage comes after the relationship is established, after both have "fallen in love", after they've spent enough time to truly know they can commit to that, and after they know that their goals are congruent enough to make it work.

You're jumping the gun.

No you have to take a relationship on step at a time one day, one stage at a time.
You never know what will happen tomorrow, how your partner will change or the circumstance

NOt a bad way as long as you dont accept whatever someone does just because you want it to last. Its good to think it will last but don't lower your standards or take **** from someone because your mind is set on it.

Not necisserily. take it one step at a time and be sure before you know if the person's right for you. you can't control falling in love... it just happens.

Sure, it's great to "give it your all",but at the same time, don't be afraid to walk away early on if things aren't right. People waste too much time hoping things will fix themselves when it's never going to happen.
