How has atheism benefitted the world in the last 100 years?

100 million people dead due to an aethistic system called communism.

And people who trash Mother Teresa are a puzzle. I guess they're so full of hate they can't have a rational thought. Hitler was not a Christian, he wanted to eliminate Christianity after WWII and was involved in the occult. His favorite philosopher was Fredrich Nieztche, an atheist who died screaming in an insane asylum he was god

I think enough good answers have been give already. I suppose Nazis like to go to Jewish NGs and ask "What good has Judaism given the world in the last 100 years?"

Christians have proven their worth.

As for the Hitler commnent...

"Christianity is an invention of sick brains...The war will be over one day. I shall then consider that my life's final task will be to solve the religious problem." [Hitler’s Table Talk, p. 142-4]

"Christianity is the biggest lie the Jews ever told humanity"

-- Adolf Hitler, 13 December 1941.

"So it's not opportune to hurl ourselves now into a struggle with the Churches. The best thing is to let Christianity die a natural death," -- Adolf Hitler, 14 October 1941.

A Christian would not do the things Hitler did. According to a biography of Hitler published in 1933 Bevor Hitler Kam (Before Hitler Came) Hitler had been deeply involved in occult secret societies like the Thule, which based their teachings on Theosophy.

Mother Teresa wasn't bad, although she wasn't the saint she was painted out to be, all her patients had pretty bad treatment conditions, and her main goal was not treatment, but the conversion to Catholicism. There have been some fine individuals of both religions.

Unfortunately most are judgmental as the many Christians in this thread not representing their religion very well shows. They could at least learn a little about religious history before declaring their religion more peaceful than Islam. If you count radical Muslim groups as representative of Islam, than you would have to count Hitler as representative of Christianity.

Deterred mankind from the educated rights of humanity which is the secular way of saying the soul as you phrase it. Someday all the superstitious foolishness will be strained and the salvageable will be put into human terms and mankind will profit all the better for it.
Science is the godless godsend that has made life bearable and taught us there is a better way.
