When i was a kid, i remember commenting on how "strange" my cousin looked after taking off her glasses from time to time. The area under her eyes looked "puffy", as if she hadn't gotten any sleep. I started wearing glasses, myself, about two years ago, and from about last year, i noticed the same thing about myself. I never had this problem before i started wearing glasses. I've looked on the internet, but couldn't find any explanations, so if anyone here has the answer, I'd appreciate it!

This does not happen to everyone who wears glasses. In some cases it is because the prescription causes the eyes to work harder. (I'll bet you have an astigmatism) The eyes become tired and they look it. In other cases the prescription is not strong enough or they cause the vision to not be uniform on both side. This also causes the eyes to work harder in order to see.

A cool gel mask at night works wonders

Glasses magnify. My mom wears contacts most of the time so when she puts her glasses on her eyes look like they are just popping out of her head. It's as different as looking at someone directly face to face or through double pane windows. You have light reflection that changes the way the eyes look. It also makes a difference if they have bifocals, flat or anti glare lenses. My mom has a combination of bifocal and anti glare. It's more of a flat look but also has the rounded shape which makes the eyes more prominent than contacts do. With glasses off it's the persons eyes adjusting to plain light without any filtering that the glasses give. Don't keep your glasses on too long, they will make your eyes really sore and really red. Drops in puffy, over tired eyes sting ... glasses or not, lol.

Maybe because once you take your glasses off your eyes have to readjust and with natural reflexes you squint your eyes without realizing you are,I found that glasses make your vision worse than before you start wearing them because the eyes become dependent on them.

im really not sure but ill just take a guess...glasses magnify things so that the person can see better...i would think it only stands to reason that when you are looking at them ... it would also magnify that area of thier face...making thier eyes look larger and puffier .... i dont know but makes sense to me...God bless
