the problem is that when he hooked it up a message came on the screen that said that your tv is not compatible with HDCP. It has HDMI all over the box so i don't know what to do. the circuit city website has an hdmi cord as an accessory for this tv. so i am at a loss anyone with any help is appreciated.

If the TV is not HDCP compliant, there is some material you cannot watch. Contact Olevia to see if there is an upgrade available. There is nothing wrong with your HDMI cord. If there is nothing the company can do, you should return the TV and get one that is HDCP compliant.

The cord is not the problem, it is the content protection. Check the below link, then consult the manual for the component you are hooking up to the tv to see how to restrict the content. Hope this helps.
