In the bible it also says that it's the parents' responsibility to get a bride for their son and a bridegroom for their daughter. Look at the state of the marriage today because everyone from the 60's on married for "love".

Bad character is not limited to non-Christians...

But the Bible does say to keep yourself from the world... stand out... don't conform... don't make friends with liars... and with the wrong crowd...

This doesn't just apply to Atheist.... this applies to everyone.

Christain... faith can be weekened and mess up or watered down when they hang with non-believers...

You can never change someone else to your level... they will always affect you.

You won't bring your boyfriend/girlfriend to salvation by dating him...

You will probably loose much of your faith and weaken your relationship with God.

... That is why the Bible says what it says.

The Bible does not know anything about Christians. But Jesus said he came for the sinners only and he did not say anything about those who do not believe in God. His targets are those who believe and yet continue to defy or transgress God's law.So, you will find nothing written about it.
Now The Catholics however and the other denominations are called Christians 65 years after jesus died.

You may compare with this quote from the Quran:

[5:51] O you who believe! do not take the Jews and the Christians for friends; they are friends of each other; and whoever amongst you takes them for a friend, then surely he is one of them; surely Allah does not guide the unjust people.

It depends on who you want to quote, I personally agree with "Love thy neighbor" that's a good quote, notice in the Bible there are no exceptions. Therefore, yes it is alright to allow Christian children to mingle with Atheist children and Muslim children and Hindu children et al.

If you are so worried about your child's faith, maybe you are teaching him/her wrong, but I would keep in mind, faith really comes down to the individual and God.

Who cares what the bible says? I don't see any harm in letting your kids be friends with atheists or any other religion or lack of religion, as long as they are not out to hurt one another.
