Problem with TV colours?

Hello,

I have a Celestial 34 inches TV. It is nearly 4 years old & was working perfectly fine until one day when I switched it on I found that the colours are a bit strange. It has virtually no colurs in the middle of screen & than a band of green, red, etc. as you look away from the centre of screen. Every thing else, sound, reception, etc is fine.

Has anyone else faced this problem? Is it picture tube problem & how expensive it will be to fix?

The only thing that I can think that would make it do that would be somebody holding a magnet to the screen.

Try turning the TV off at the power point and leaving it overnight un-plugged, than try it again in the morning, otherwise you will probably need a new tv because it would be expencive to get it fixed

Have you put a stereo speaker close to the TV? Magnets in the speaker will cause the screen to do that. Most good quality surround sound speakers are shielded to prevent this from happening. If this isn't the case, then the TV may be shot.

If the tv was not hit or dropped its probably not the tube, there is a thermistor inside that probably was never soldered correctly at the factory. It needs to be resolderered &maybe even degaussed with a degausser. It doesnt sound like an expensive problem.

The blue "shade weapons" have grew to advance into corroded..there's a ingredient at a television fix keep called a "rejuvenator" which will sparkling the colour weapons off..they are the prongs that are at the back of the tube that the "yoke" slides over..The rejuvenator slips over the pins that the electrical powered part of the television slips on by potential of the yoke..they turn it on and you will see all styles of sparks interior the long part of the tube..it is electrically cleansing the colour weapons..
