how else can i get rid of the engine noise?

A ground-loop isolator.

GM's are known for being hard to get rid of ground noise. maybe try another ground or also get a ground loop isolators which will plug into the rca's and get rid of some of that noise.

if u are getting a noise its because it is not a good connection try to sand off the paint or bolt it to the seat bracket but u have to make it metal to metal

Put a bolt through the hood of your car and hook it to that.

Make sure your RCA cables are not next to your power or remote wires.

put coil between tape & battery cable
