No it's not wrong because in befriending atheists you have a chance of saving them and then in turn be Christians. Just like the Bible said that a believer can marry a non-believer because then that non-believer can be saved. When Jesus was here on earth he didn't go and befriend priests and all those people that are saved, he befriended those that were not saved and that's why he said when he was asked at some point that a doctor does not go to a healthy person but goes to the person that is sick and needs a doctor.

But if your faith is not strong enough (easily influenced) and you might end up like them abundaning Christ and being rebelious, non-religios, disobedient, and not believing in God then rather not be friends with them or else you'll backslide.

Befriending atheists so that you can witness to them is a two-way street. They, in turn, can put ideas into your head that may cause you to lose your faith. If you fear ideas that may cause you to stray from the path, perhaps the path is not very clear, or correct for you.

Ultimately, you decide who you want to befriend. Think about how much richer your life will be with or without friends who think differently than you.

nope, and i think it's actually wrong if you only limit yourself to people that share your religious beliefs.

there are a lot of things other than religion to talk about, but if you and your atheist friends only talk about religion and it makes you uncomfortable, then you might consider not pursuing that friendship anymore. otherwise, go with the flow.

and if you are so weak that having an atheist friend will make you stray from the path, then you need to take a long look in the mirror; the problem is not with the other person. the world is filled with a lot of adversity... and friendship and tolerance are good things that make us stronger.

It is not wrong to be friendly just to spend time taking from our goal of converting the LoSt. Have you found Jesus Christ yet? Study these scriptures and see what you think. To become a Christian:
HEAR - Romans 10:17 So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.
BELIEVE - To the Prison guard in Acts 16:31 Paul and Silas said, "Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved, you and your household."
REPENT - Acts 17:30 Truly, these times of ignorance God overlooked, but now commands all men everywhere to repent.
CONFESS CHRIST - Matthew 10:32 "Therefore whoever confesses Me before men, him I will also confess before My Father who is in heaven.
BE BAPTIZED - Mark 16:16 He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned.
CONTINUE TO BE FAITHFUL - Revelation 2:10b Be faithful until death, and I will give you the crown of life.
Send me a note if you have questions. I am anxious to hear from you. Have a Great day.

I don't see anything wrong for christians to make friends with atheists. That could be a way for christian to convert them and remember Jesus came for the sick. Now if you have an atheist friend that tries to draw you from your religion and you can't control it, get rid of that friend.

No, it's not wrong *sighs* If you stray because you're friends with someone and their views differ from yours, how strong was your faith? Not very. Like the 1st poster said, Jesus wasn't just hanging with the righteous folks, He embraced them all.

How could it be wrong? The Christian has just as much chance of influencing the Atheist, Does he not?

No I am atheist and have many Christian frieds, isn't it wrong to jude and not accept someone because they don't believe in your God. Seems a little closed minded to me. I have learned many things from christians, as well as atheists.

Nope. It's the Christian thing to do, to be kind to everyone.

Jesus said Love Everyone
Treat them kindly too
When your heart is filled with love
others will love you
