God rules over all creation, no matter how you look at it. All is under the hand of God.

God is the author of all physical and natural laws, but that does not necessarily mean he wants to punish us whenever there is an earthquake, plague, tsunami, or other calamities. He just cannot change the laws he created so that we will not suffer. For example if a meteorite is about to hit you, he will not change the law of gravity just because of you. If he did that there will be chaos in our planet.

I saw that program too, just this morning on the History Channel. It neither proves or disproves anything. It was meant as a plausible explanation, not as irrefutable proof, how ever interesting it may have been.
