we've known eachother for 2 1/2 years and ive loved him ever since i saw him. He's usually really comfortable around girls (most of his friends are girls) but it's always been kind of awkward between us -> not much conversation and when ever i ask him something personal, he gives sort of a grunt answer and doesnt continue the conversation. is this just a guy signal for feelings or does he just not like me, even as a friend? i SO know i love him but im not sure how he feels back. what can i do to find out his feelings for me? and if there are none, how can i get him to like me? i know i love him but am i just imagining his feelings for me?

Are you sure the boy is straight? If so, just flirt with him and see if he bites. Sometime guys are oblivious and you may have to be blunt. You have already wasted 2.5 years loving him through awkward conversations... @this rate you'll have your first kiss in 2015!!
Take the leap the worst that will happen is you will continue to have awkward conversations with him and then you will have time to find someone else to love!

it seems like you like him so much that every reaction he gives you is a sign of him liking you back and you nor anyone on this site can really assure you that they truly are feelings for you. you'll have to ask him yourself and confront him. you can usually tell from facial expressions what he feels when you ask him this question. it would be the best way to find out, no one else can tell you but him and if he does then YAY for you but if no, then it is pretty hard to get someone to like you. he could notice you more, but you cannot really make someone start liking you just like that.

You can find out how he feels by being honest and asking. If he does not have feelings for you, trust me, you don't want to "make" him.

Talk to him about his feelings. If he likes you, he'll let you know, especially if you let him know that you have feelings towards him.

have a friend talk to him and ask him if he likes u. maybe a friend that has a boyfriend, or ask one of ur guy friends to do it.
