It sounds suspiciously like Anselm's "ontological argument", which claimed that existence was a more perfect realization than non-existence, and since God was perfect, therefore he had to exist. Maybe Descartes wasn't as original as he let on. In any case, the arguments are semantic tricks. They don't hold logical water.
