cleaning a toothbrush? I have a soft bristle, full head toothbrush and the toothpaste makes them stiff after the first use. Each time I brush with it, the bristles are stiff because of the toothpaste. I rinse it under hot water to clean it, but the bristles are still stiff when I use it over and over again. What is the best way to make them 'soft' again like when the brush was new? Thanks in advance for your help and suggestions!

Run your toothbrush under hot tap water PRIOR to brushing to soften the bristles. If you'd like, it is not a bad idea to run the toothbrush in the utensil area of your dishwasher once per week to clean it. Aside from that, get a new brush at least every 4 months. Happy brushing!

You may be using too much toothpaste. You should only put a glop the size of a nice round Green Giant pea on your brush and not a whole end-to-end strip like they show on the commercials. They are just trying to sell more toothpaste. Put this dollop of toothpaste on your brush and then sort of rub it here and there to spread it around your mouth a bit before you start brushing.

If you rinse your brush under running water and make sure that all the toothpaste is gone, it should be fine. You may have to flex the bristles with your thumb while it's under the water to really clean out the buildup od toothpaste for a few rinses. You shouldn't need to rinse it with really hot water, either, once you are rid of the buildup.

wow a soft bristle that turns into hard after use! kidding aside, just rinse your brush properly after use, cause we tend to hurry after brushing and doesn't really bother to rinse our brushes or better yet make sure you change your brush every 3 months, i know its costly..but it'll be worth it!
