I mean, God basically says we're all losers and can't even live free from sin, we all 'fall short'
Maybe he should have taken an extra day to create humanity and we wouldn't have so many flaws...

You would rather not exist than accept the great eternal life that the Father has offered us? I cannot understand such disrespect for the gift of life.

The thing about that is...God made humans to make our own decisions and with our own freewill. When he created Adam and Eve, they choose to eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil and bring sin into the world. (kinda of a Pandora's box effect) So YES, that means humans are very flawed. And YES, that means that everyone is a sin and we are born into sin even when we are babies. But the GOOD NEWS that Christians hold on to, is the fact that Jesus died so that he can cover our many flaws and sins. When Jesus is in your life it doesn't matter that you are a sinner because you have been saved by his grace.

He didn't create the flaws, just the freedom of choice, which we used to "fall short." This is why God sent His Son to die for our sins. God loves us so beyond our understanding of the word!

If you have a problem with being called a "flawed" sinner, than it's just because we as humans are so proud. We like to take things into our own hands and put God into a box and throw Him in the basement.

i still have sin, but i'm no longer a sinner. read this passagefrom 1 corinthians 6.
1Cr 6:9 Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind,
1Cr 6:10 Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God.


ok, there is a short list of those not going to heaven, now look what was told to the christians in the next verse

1Cr 6:11 And such were some of you: but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God.

and to further refference this 11th verse look at this

2Cr 5:17 Therefore if any man [be] in Christ, [he is] a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

this shows our old self is dead wich can be further referenced to romans chapters 6 then that refferences to romans chapter 7, and that refferences to chapter 8 of the gr8 book of romans

GOD never said we were losers. We were made in his image and given gifts and abilities unique in the world. he loves us so much he sent his son to die for our sins...he wouldnt do that for losers....secondly sin is inherent in us because we are flawed...we are imperfect. We are born with original sin. The human condition and the promise of eternal life make it nessecary for us to be flawed. if we were perfect there would be no need for salvation. We are imperfect so we can exercise our free will and freely choose to try to live according to GODS will or not. The choice to consciously sin is ours to make.

Hi Cantankerous Toucan. The passage you are referring to is found in Romans 3:22-24. What God is telling us in these verses is that we are all miserable rotten sinners who will never make ourselves worthy of Heaven. The only way we can find His righteousness is through Jesus Christ who died for our sins:

"even the righteousness of God, through faith in Jesus Christ, to all and on all who believe. For there is no difference; 23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, 24 being justified freely by His grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus, 25 whom God set forth as a propitiation by His blood, through faith, to demonstrate His righteousness, because in His forbearance God had passed over the sins that were previously committed, 26 to demonstrate at the present time His righteousness, that He might be just and the justifier of the one who has faith in Jesus."

This is a powerful truth for those who believe.

On this earth we have sin living in our members. When we go to heaven to live eternally with God we are the same people we are here on earth, we are just free from the corruption of this evil world. All babies who die go to heaven and they're not encumbered by the sinful nature any longer either. They become perfect reflections of the love and purity of God.

We are all born into a world w/ deficient genetic gnomes, filled with social injustices, environmental degradation and the like. Some of these ills were created so we could receive pregnancy care and food. We are involved in the failings from conception.

You aren't a sinner when you're in diapers.
According to Ezekiel 28:15, an infant is innocent:
"You were perfect in your ways from the day you were created, till iniquity was found in you."
An infant is not accountable for sin until he/she is old enough to understand his/her wrongdoing.
And yes, we as humans do fall short but we can repent and be saved, etc. etc.

Never read in the Bible where God calls me a loser. Sinner...yes. Forgiven....yes. Jesus died on the cross for your sins too. One day you will realize the truth.

If that's the reality, why should anyone be bummed? Rather it is wisdom to know that we are sinners and then accept God's gift of salvation. Wouldn't you be bummed to know that, after you died, that you should have accepted Christ when you were alive?
