It depends. If I'm in a long relationship, yes I will and if my g/f would desire a lingerie then I will buy it for her why not. As regard for a Valentine's Card, that's for sure.

Valentine's Day, One Red Rose and a small box of very good quality chocolates and lavish her with loving attention. I am sure you do this now anyway. Birthday, a nice simple piece of jewllery such as her birthstone set in a gold or silver heart on a chain. You can work out what she favours most in the way of jewellery by looking at what she wears gold/silver, large/small. Bracelets in preference to necklace etc. In all honesty it really is the thought that you put into what you choose that will impress her. Why not go to a secondhand shop and look for a classic setting in a ring, necklace etc., quite often you can find a really good piece for a fraction of the cost. Enjoy these two special days/nights most of all.

no way! the most returned present at M+S every xmas is lingerie I think that says it all. Dodgy ground always women's clothing too big is insulting you're saying their fat, too small you don't think they're large enough; too sexy you're a pervert; too mumsy not imaginative enough. enough said give it up!
