Google [professional genealogist {county} {state}], using the appropriate county. Expect to pay $25 - $50 an hour, with no guarantee of success. Most of them have a minimum of 8 - 12 hours. You will need to provide him/her with your grandparents' names, since a Genealogist isn't a private eye.

If your grandparents came from Latin America (I'm guessing, based on your name), the professional would be looking at web sites that are open to the public, unless you wanted to pay one in Mexico, Peru, etc.

Your avatar looks to be African-American. If you are, you probably won't get back much before 1800, since they didn't ask slaves their names until 1870.

If you have a skill yourself - cooking, cleaning, baby-sitting, yard care (Your avatar looks like a teen) you might be able to find someone at your county genealogy society who would trade you hours for hours. If you are older than your avatar looks and a mechanic, dentist or CPA, all the better.

Have you tried googling genealogy professional researchers?
There ARE times when it is worth while to hire someone to find information that you can't, for example, you live far away from records that are not online. Other times, you are the best (or only) person who can contact living relatives, and ask them for private information to help you. Perhaps they have a family Bible, as example.
It is kind of like hiring someone to go out to dinner for you. I'd be happy to go out and enjoy the meal, but really, you are missing all the fun.

Hi, I am on a couple of forums that help with obtaining census sheets, where to look for items etc.

One forum, the founder is also a genealogist by profession.
She is wonderful, not only does her site help help you asking nothing is return, she also does searches thru LDS, NJ archives etc. She is decently priced and keeps you informed from step one.

The forum site is linked below. Join in, see what you can and then you can email her to to see if she can help with your research. I would recommend her to anyone looking for an "honest and friendly" researcher.

the link is: gfop.forumup.com

Check it out.
