It's a myth mothers came up with to keep their kids from ingesting all that sugar. Other than that, it's harmless. If I were worried about pimples, I'd be more concerned with hormones and puberty and genetics. Aside from the sugar, chocolate is pretty heathy for you. It's a pretty powerful antioxidant and its beneficial for heart health and cholesterol. Plus, it is an afrodisiac (good for some grade A love making). So turn up that Marvin Gaye, put out some chocolate, and "let's get it on"

Hi,
I am a dermatologist by profession and within a careeer of 10 years I have seen lots of acne problems. According to me Red and white pimples are the worst and painful. Acneprone skin is very sensitive, even if you touch it once the redness will increase with itching. According to me there is no magical way to heal your pimples over night as this is the puffed part of your skin due to the bacteria.
In simple words try to improve your diet and have lots of water that helps in healingg process. Un-necessary oily food should be avoided to get a healthy spotless skin.

Most dermatologists will tell you that it doesn't cause acne(mine does), but more research is being done into the whole diet/acne relationship. Acne seems to a symptom and not a true disease, and research is being done to determine the cause. Some possible triggers include: dairy (which is in chocolate), wheat/gluten and refined sugar/refined carbohydrates. Personally, I've been avoiding all of those foods and eating fruits, vegetables, nuts/seeds, meat (lean beef/chicken/turkey/fish), and olive oil and my skin has actually improved - along with my overall health too. The eastern world doesn't seem to struggle with acne, diabetes, stroke, heart disease, cancer, irritable bowel syndrome, and all of those "diseases" so maybe there is something to this whole diet thing. The reason I put "diseases" in quotations is because they can be almost completely avoided, but other factors like pollution could contribute also. Sure, you might be more susceptible than others because of genetics, but if you live a healthy lifestyle you will save yourself some problems.

u just think thats it does. chocolate soda greasey food gives u pimples. pimples come from clogged pores and hormones and it also can be heredity. if u have really oily skin u need to be washing ur face a couple of times a day. mary kay has really good stuff. and bath and body works does too. it's called neem the stuff from bath and body works. my husband had problems with pimples and i got him proactive and the neem works better then that does. i use for myself neem and stuff from mary kay. good luck. most of the stuff u will get for clearing up acne u will brake up frist before u see a differance. it's un clogging ur pores thats clogged and dry dead skin. i also red about using apple cider vinegar to.

Actually, yes in a way. I know it is considered a "myth" that junk food causes blemishes... but for some people there bodies react to food that way. People break out for alllll different reasons (i.e. stress, not enough water, not good hygeine, AND what they eat). People react differently to food, almost like an allergy.
When I eat a lot of peanut butter I notice I will break out, and I drink 104 ounces of water each day and always have the same facial cleansing routine. :)
And acne is different than the occasional breakout!

No, nothing that you eat gives you pimples. My dermatologist said that when you eat things it is not related to your acne.

Nope!
The amount of toxins in you, and not drinking enough water can give you pimples!
Detoxify and drink lots of water! :)
